Even if she did, she has still spent 7 years in jail. A lot of it in terrible conditions. I'm not sure what there is to gain from keeping her in there and her inevitable suicide in the coming months.

At the end of the day he stole documents from the US Army and jeopardised national security. I'm not too sure 7 years is really ample punishment for that.

Whistleblowing is a funny one, and what's in the publics interest to know is pretty subjective. He released 750,000 documents, and without knowing exactly what they all were it's hard to comment but I'm sure it was reported at the time that he had been posting documents with personal information of spies and agents who were still on active duty. Depending on where they are in the world that's essentially handing out a death sentence.
