Sadly I have little faith in O’Neill making a cunt of it. Celtic should have been miles away last season and the decrepit old fuck had something like a 2.5ppg average.

I doubt he makes a total arse of it but look at guys they have had like ange or Rodgers. They could and should be miles ahead of the entire league and these sorts of decisions keep them a bit more in reach for us.

I’m happy with the Martin o Neill appointment. Nearly every game they played bang average football.

He looked absolutely exhausted by the end of the season and his interviews were bizarre. It’s a very different situation from just stepping in to give a hand for a bit. Presumably he’ll want players to fit his style of play. He will do OK but they are not making any real progress until at least 2028 with this set up.

Will get plenty help from the refs though.

I don't think it's even him in terms of style of play and all that, Fotheringham and Maloney will be doing the spade work and he'll just turn up every now and then to be the face of the operation, keeping the punters sweet and going on his coffee dates with wee Wullie to discuss the next steps in fixing the league.

They were kept in it with some favourable refereeing decisions and a bit of good fortune. Then they won it because Maeda realised he’d need to do a bit to get himself a move as well as some blatant cheating from the officials. I don’t see how lightning will strike twice, O’ Neill will keep them competitive but they won’t run over the league like they have in the recent past
